Seawater sample has been collected during the TREC expedition in Roscoff and several cryoprotective agents have been tested to identify the most conservative one. In order to assess the viability of the microbial community, metabarcoding based on 18S-16S amplification from DNA and RNA extracted from the same sample has been used.
