Antarctic brine sampled in the Boulder Clay site (74 ° 44 ''S, 164 ° 01'' E), located in Northern Victoria Land. The aim was to identify the biodiversity differences in hypersaline brines; understanding the reasons of these differences, considering that brines might contain DNA and RNA molecules that remain trapped inside for long geological eras, thus representing a key to reconstruct past ecosystems.
