Jean-Luc Godard Collection

Jean-Luc Godard is a French filmmaker whose work, over fifty years and numerous stylistic changes, remains highly influential and much discussed. As part of the French New Wave with Francois Truffaut and others, Godard's earliest films, such as Breathless (1959) and Band of Outsiders (1964) made an immediate impact. Later work in a variety of styles - political agitprop with the Dziga-Vertov Group, or early video experiments - played to smaller audience yet remained influential. Returning to film and a higher degree of visibility, Godard's later films, from Every Man For Himself (1980) to Goodbye to Language (2014) remain as challenging as provocative as ever. This collection consists of holdings of Godard-related material including monographs, as well as book chapters and clippings files.
