Lingua e cultura materiale a Ugento

This study examines the popular language and material culture of the municipality of Ugento, in southern Salento, through a methodology articulated in three phases: collection of oral and photographic sources, creation of thematic tables, and analysis and lemmatization of a specific lexicon. The research involved interviews with local citizens, analysis of historical documentation and creation of a dictionary that documents and preserves the linguistic and cultural heritage of Ugento. The thematic tables provide a detailed representation of material culture, while the dictionary, enriched with etymologies and concrete examples, serves as an instrument for understanding and preserving the dialect.
