Surface Water Floating Waste Dataset

The dataset consists of images ,showing various floating wastes on surface water. The images were collected under various conditions using natural lights with manual camera settings and are intended for use in machine learning models for surface water quality detection.

The data is organized into six distinct folders based on the highest amount of the object in the image:

1. Algae_pollution: Algae covered or dominated water surface.
2. Chemical_pollution: Chemical waste,oil.
3. Mixed_pollution: Combination of multiple waste types.
4. Natural_pollution: Leaves,branches,organic debris.
5. Plastic_polution: Plastic bottles,containers,different plastic items.
6. Polythene_pollution: Thin packaging,polythene bags.

The dataset offers various classification of floating waste in the surface water. It can help in the development of tools for monitoring the water quality specially urban lakes for using standardized surface water.
