Scopus Dataset of Co-Affiliation Metadata for Research Publications in Austria (2013–2022): Alternative Research Institute–Company Classification

This GeoPackage dataset contains affiliation metadata for journal articles indexed in Scopus that were published between 2013 and 2023 and include at least one Austrian affiliation. The records were retrieved using the Scopus APIs via the pybliometrics Python library.

This version corresponds to an alternative sector classification then in the baseline classification (https://zenodo.org/uploads/18082675). Specifically, 49 affiliations previously classified as research institutes (res) were reclassified as companies (comp) based on commercial legal form or profit orientation.

As in the baseline dataset, the Scopus affiliation metadata have been enriched with:

Mapped parent organisation identifiers, linking each institution to its corresponding larger organisation (e.g., mapping departments or institutes to their parent university or research centre).

Geographic coordinates derived using the Python geopy library.

This dataset constitutes the affiliation-level input data used for the sensitivity analysis and is intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and reuse in bibliometric research.
