These samples give an insight into the microbial community of an EBPR (Enhanced biological phosphorus removal) system setup in which Candidatus accumulibacter phosphatis (CAP) is dominant. CAP is a well known PAO (polyphosphate accumulationg organism). In this study we investigate the possibility of CAP in using nitrate as electron acceptor.
