嘉義植物園植栽普查資料General Survey of Chiayi Botanical Garden

嘉義樹木園設置之初，係以橡膠樹與各類熱帶經濟樹種之引種試驗為主軸，經營型態概屬於試驗地的管理模式，光復後為保全這些引進珍貴或具經濟開發潛力之樹種，遂再調整為母樹園之型態持續經營。因此，雖然目前嘉義樹木園已納入國家植物園體系，然而對於植物園基本的植物檔案與相關資訊記錄都是欠缺的，包括引種記錄簿、植物登錄簿、植物定植記錄簿及植物物候記錄簿…等，都仍需重新來建置或補足，而俟這些基礎資料建立後，才能更精準的實施各區的細部設計與引種規劃。
為了建立這些植物基礎資料，本中心自 2016年起著手進行嘉義樹木園全區之樹木普查作業，目的除為能精確掌握各分區的植物分佈、種類與生長狀態外，並藉以擬定整體的園區維護管理計畫及建立起園區植物的基礎資料庫。調查方式限於經費與人力，因此採以全園區植物胸徑超過10公分以上的樹種，進行調查、記錄(植物名、胸徑、樹高、生長狀態等)與掛牌作業；至於植物胸徑(DBH)在10公分以下的樹種，則透過穿越線調查法來紀錄並建立本園區之植物名錄。

In order to establish the basic information of these plants, the center has begun to conduct tree surveys in the entire Chiayi Arboretum since 2016. The purpose is to accurately understand the plant distribution, species and growth status of each district, and to formulate overall park maintenance. Management plan and establishment of a basic database of plants in the park. The survey method is limited to funding and manpower. Therefore, tree species with a plant DBH (DBH) of more than 10 cm are used for surveys, records (plant name, DBH, tree height, growth status, etc.) and listing operations; as for DBH Tree species under 10 cm are recorded and established through the cross-line survey method.
