资源简介:
Bycatch data are commonly collected during studies of focal species, yet these data are often underutilized in understanding the ecology of these same focal species. A multi-species approach to focal species ecology offers several advantages, including broader scope of detection of habitat and resource changes, indicator species or surrogate species approaches, and documentation of species which may in the future be of conservation or management concern. This archive contains a multi-decadal fish community dataset collected as bycatch data during a focal study of Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) parr in from natal headwater streams in the Salmon River, Idaho, as well as covariate data to explain community structure. The project using these data focuses on identifying lessons from broader community-based approaches to understanding ecological patterns and processes important for Chinook Salmon in their natal habitats. Data are stored in .csv and .rds format, and are fully documented in a companion ReadMe document.
