This study aimed to characterize the gene expression changes of Haloferax volcanii under mating conditions. Two auxotrophic strains of DS2 were combined in an environment designed to maximize mating efficiency and sequenced at time points from 0 to 24 hours after plating. The data were then examined for genes following an expression pattern hypothesized for mating and genes that have been previously connected to mating.
