Dietary diversity of herbivorous fish

The specialization on dietary species represents the different nutritional needs of herbivorous fishes, resulting the various exploiting manners and ecological impact on coral reefs. Our result indicated that dietary specialization is an important trait to reveal the functional complementarity among herbivorous fishes, and also implied that the loss of any given species will erode the functional potential of important community on coral reefs.
