Flower display size, nectar volume and sugar content of Trifolium pratense from 87 grassland plots in 2023-2024

This study aims at the effects of land-use management on floral traits as well as their variation in a plant population. We recorded floral traits that enhance the chances of successful pollination such as floral cues and floral rewards from Trifolium pratense, as it is a self-incompatible common meadow plant. The dataset contains flower size dimensions, height from the ground, number of flowers on a stalk, nectar quantity and sucrose content collected from all plots that had our focal species in sufficient abundance in all three Exploratories (Schwäbische Alb, Hainich-Dün, Schorfheide-Chorin). The field sampling took place in July-August of 2023-2024.
