The 16S rRNA gene sequence from the isolate has been deposited in GenBank under accession number KX753221. An NCBI BLAST search in the nr database and RDP database identified the culture as Cupriavidus sp. strain a3. The organism was isolated from soil and sludge samples collected from pharmaceutical and pesticide manufacturing industries and their effluent treatment plants. This study highlights the potential of Cupriavidus sp. strain a3 and its derived functional genes and enzymes in metabolizing aromatic pollutants, offering a sustainable solution for the detoxification of these compounds. Sequencing was performed using the Illumina NextSeq 500 platform with 2 x 150 bp chemistry.
