Reliability and Validity of the Chinese Short Form of the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory

This dataset was generated for a study revising and psychometrically validating the Chinese short form of the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (ASI). Data were collected via the online survey platform Credamo. An informed-consent statement was presented on the first page of the questionnaire. Participation was voluntary, and respondents completed the survey online with an average completion time of approximately 10 minutes. Participants who completed the survey and passed quality-control checks received a RMB 3 incentive provided by the platform; the research team did not access respondents’ accounts or other identifiable private information.The study included two independent cross-sectional samples. To avoid overlap across samples, the platform de-duplicated respondents based on user IDs. Sample 1 was collected in December 2025, with 181 questionnaires returned; after excluding cases that failed the attention-check item(s), 160 valid records were retained. Sample 2 was collected in January 2026, with 524 questionnaires returned; after excluding cases that failed the attention-check item(s), 434 valid records were retained.Measures in the dataset include an authoritarianism scale, a social dominance orientation scale, the Chinese short-form sexism measure (ASI), and demographic variables (gender, age, and educational attainment).
