VPRS 12792 Cabinet Committees' Records

This series comprises Committee records of the Kennett government (1992 to 1999) known to be extant at August 2001.In October 1992 a Liberal government was elected in Victoria. The new government established a Cabinet Committee structure, similar to the previous government's, to assist in the planning and coordination of key government initiatives and in the achievement of its strategic objectives.In addition to planning committees and committees for specific purposes there were a number of departmental coordinating committees. The Ministers associated with each portfolio met regularly to undertake coordination of the committees and address particular issues relevant to their portfolios.Each committee was chaired by the Premier or a Minister.
