Occurrence dataset of Perinereis falklandica (Annelida: Nereididae) from the Southeastern Pacific and Southwestern Atlantic, including the first record from Peru

This dataset compiles occurrence records of the polychaete <b>Perinereis falklandica</b> (Ramsay, 1914) (Annelida: Nereididae) from South America, including both the Southeastern Pacific and Southwestern Atlantic coasts. The dataset integrates primary data from recent field collections in Peru and compiled bibliographic records from Chile, the Falkland Islands (Malvinas), and Tristan da Cunha.The dataset contains 70 occurrence records. Of these, 14 correspond to newly collected material from the Peruvian coast, representing the first confirmed record of <b>P. falklandica</b> from Peruvian waters. These specimens were collected between December 2024 and February 2025 from rocky intertidal macroalgal turfs. The remaining 56 records were sourced from published literature, with collection dates ranging from 1902 to 2019, from Chile, the Falkland Islands (Malvinas), and Tristan da Cunha (Atlantic Ocean).Each record includes taxonomic identification, geographic coordinates (WGS84), collection date, habitat description, and catalog number for new specimens. This dataset extends the known northern distribution limit of <b>P. falklandica</b> to approximately 15°S in the Southeastern Pacific (Atiquipa, Peru).
