鄂陵湖（Ngoring Lake）位于黄河源头，青海省玛多县境内，是青藏高原第一大淡水湖泊，古称柏海，又称鄂灵湖，藏语音译称错鄂朗，有“青蓝色湖”之意。地理位置为34&deg46′03″N-35&deg05′21″N，97&deg29′21″E-97&deg54′21″E。鄂陵湖是在侏罗纪泥灰岩、砂岩、浅变质岩基底上在晚新生代燕山运动时期巴颜喀拉-阿尼玛卿南缘与东昆仑南缘-阿尼玛卿左行走滑断裂交汇部位形成的断陷构造盆地，上覆有第四纪早更新世-全新世湖相沉积地层。鄂陵湖内有231个岛屿，它们主要分布在湖的西南部。鄂陵湖中，最大岛屿的面积为0.62 km&sup2，岸线长12.04 km；面积大于0.1 km&sup2的岛屿有7个；最小岛屿的面积为32 m&sup2。鄂陵湖集水面积为651.08 km&sup2，岸线长490.73 km，湖面高程4268.7 m。该数据集是在Google Earth遥感卫星影像(2015)及相关的地图基础上研发完成。数据集以.kmz 和shp 格式存储，由22个文件组成，数据量为23.1 MB（压缩为2个文件，7.83 MB）。

Eling Lake (Ngoring Lake) is situated at the source of the Yellow River, in Maduo County, Qinghai Province, and is the largest freshwater lake on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It was historically referred to as Baihai, also known as Eling Lake, and transliterated from Tibetan as Cuo'elang, which means "blue-green lake". Its geographic coordinates range from 34°46′03″N to 35°05′21″N and 97°29′21″E to 97°54′21″E. Eling Lake is a faulted tectonic basin formed during the Late Cenozoic Yanshanian Orogeny at the intersection of the southern margin of the Bayan Har-A'nyêmaqên belt and the southern margin of the Eastern Kunlun-A'nyêmaqên left-lateral strike-slip fault zone, developed on the basement consisting of Jurassic marl, sandstone and low-grade metamorphic rocks, and overlain by lacustrine sedimentary strata from the Early Pleistocene to Holocene of the Quaternary Period. There are 231 islands within Eling Lake, predominantly distributed in the southwestern portion of the lake. The largest island in the lake covers an area of 0.62 km² and has a shoreline length of 12.04 km; there are 7 islands with an area exceeding 0.1 km²; the smallest island has an area of 32 m². The catchment area of Eling Lake is 651.08 km², the shoreline length is 490.73 km, and the lake surface elevation is 4268.7 m. This dataset was developed based on Google Earth remote sensing satellite images (2015) and related maps. The dataset is stored in .kmz and shp formats, consisting of 22 files with a total data volume of 23.1 MB (compressed into 2 files with a size of 7.83 MB).
