Renewable Generation Profiles and Weather-Correlated Load Profiles used in "Utility resource planning in a new era of weather-driven volatility"

This repository contains 8760 hour time series data for load and renewable generation utilized in the study "Utility resource planning in a new era of weather-driven volatility" published by Charles River Associates and Form Energy. The data is used to represent Idaho Power's system in a resource planning case study. Load profiles are provided in "Load Profiles.zip". Within this folder, the individual files provide hourly load profiles for forecasted years 2024-2043. Renewable profiles are provided in "Renewable Profiles.zip". Within this folder, the individual files provide hourly capacity factors for Idaho Power's solar and wind resources represented in the model. Each file contains hourly 8760 time series for historical weather year scenarios 1980-2022 (column header corresponds to weather year scenario). More details on this dataset can be found in Appendix A of the study.
