Petrimonas sp. strain IBARAKI was obtained from the lotus field mud as the mixed culture with Dehalococcoides mccartyi strain IBARAKI. It was further mixed with Dehalococcoides mccartyi strain UCH-ATV1 and maintained as a mixed culture. Petrimonas sp. strain IBARAKI seems to support the growth of Dehalococcoides spp. The metagenome of the mixed culture was analyzed using the next-generation sequencer, PacBio RS II, and the complete genome sequence was determined.
