Pleurotus ostreatus is an edible mushroom that is frequently cultivated in China. We previously examined dynamic changes in the microbiome composition that occur during the composting of corncobs to prepare media for the cultivation of P. ostreatus, and analyzed the metabolic function of members of the microbial community in composting systems. Therefore, this study focused on the dynamic changes in structures and metabolic functions of the microbial community in the culture compost at the five typical growth stages of P. ostreatus by using metagenomics sequencing. The dominant microorganism and metabolic pathway will be identified.
