This dataset includes the following components:
(1) 16 sets of lake ice thickness (LIT) data for large lakes and reservoirs in the Northern Hemisphere extracted from altimetric satellites, spanning the period from 1992 to 2019 with a 10-day temporal resolution, stored in the file *Altimetric LIT for 16 large lakes.xlsx*;
(2) Daily lake ice thickness and snow depth over lake surface data for 1,313 lakes in the Northern Hemisphere with an area of ≥50 km², derived from remote sensing lake ice models, covering the period from 2003 to 2018, saved in netCDF (.nc) format;
(3) Projections of future lake ice thickness changes, spanning the period from 2071 to 2099, stored in the file *table S1.xlsx*;
(4) A lake lookup table containing basic information such as lake ID, lake name, geographic coordinates, and lake area.
This dataset provides fundamental data for global lake ice and lake snow cover research, facilitating in-depth understanding of the evolution patterns of lake ice under changing environmental conditions, as well as its impacts on lake ecological environments and regional socio-economic development.
