资源简介:
This article, Library Automation and Digital Resilience at CUNY: A Case Study of York College Library During and After the Pandemic, examines how automation supported academic library services during COVID-19 and shaped sustainable post-pandemic practices. Using a mixed-methods design, the study integrates quantitative data (e-resource usage, virtual reference inquiries, cost savings) with qualitative insights (surveys and interviews) to evaluate York College Library’s response.Findings reveal a 200% surge in virtual reference inquiries and a 45% increase in e-resource use, demonstrating the library’s critical role as a digital hub during campus closures. Post-pandemic, hybrid service models, analytics-driven decision-making, and accessibility compliance emerged as best practices. Cost analyses showed notable efficiencies in labor, printing, and digital resource management. The study contributes to literature on digital transformation in higher education, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and long-term strategies for resilience. Recommendations include biannual IT training, AI-driven service enhancements, and CUNY-wide policy frameworks. The research offers scalable insights for librarians, MLS students, and higher education administrators navigating digital futures
