APPLICATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT: MODERN APPROACHES AND PROSPECTS FOR UZBEKISTAN

This article explores the application of information and communication technologies in supply chain management, with particular emphasis on modern approaches and future prospects for Uzbekistan. The study examines how digital platforms, enterprise information systems, cloud computing, data analytics, and communication networks are transforming supply chain processes by improving coordination, transparency, and operational efficiency. Special attention is given to the role of information and communication technologies in procurement, logistics, inventory management, transportation, and customer service. The article analyzes global trends in supply chain digitalization and evaluates their relevance to the economic and institutional context of Uzbekistan. It is argued that the adoption of ICT-based solutions can enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, reduce transaction costs, strengthen real-time decision-making, and support the modernization of national logistics infrastructure. At the same time, the study identifies key challenges, including insufficient technological integration, limited digital competencies, infrastructure constraints, and issues of data security. The findings suggest that the successful implementation of ICT in supply chain management in Uzbekistan requires a comprehensive strategy involving technological investment, regulatory support, workforce training, and institutional coordination. The article contributes to the discussion on digital transformation in logistics and provides practical recommendations for advancing supply chain modernization in emerging economies.
