RAC1 is an essential cofactor for estrogen receptor alpha [ChIP-seq]

We identified a small GTPase protein RAC1 as an intrinsic cofactor in the estrogen receptor alpha (ER) complex that is required for the function of ER. Overall design: ChIP-seq analyses identified co-localizations of ER and RAC1 on chromatin in ER+ breast cancer cells. RNA-seq analyses were performed in MCF-7 cells after down-regulation of RAC1 using siRNA. Newly synthesized RNAs were analysed in MCF-7 cells after the cells were treated with estrogen in combination with RAC1 inhibitor EHT 1864.
