Transcriptome sequencing of cryptic species of Lake Baikal endemic amphipods (Crustacea: Amphipoda) of the genus Eulimnogammarus

This project aims to uncover the evolutionary relationship between cryptic species recently found within widely distributed endemic Baikal amphipods Eulimnogammarus verrucosus and Eulimnogammarus cyaneus. It enriches the databases on known sequences these organisms and provides the first sequences of previously unexplored cryptic species. The animals were collected at different sites in the littoral zone of the lake and were acclimated differently (see the individual sample description), so differential expression comparison is not advised; the database is mostly intended for sequence comparison.
