To evaluate the performance of Xpert Mycobacterium Tuberculosis/rifampicin (MTB/RIF) Ultra (Ultra) for diagnosis of childhood tuberculosis (TB) within public health systems

The main purpose of the study was to estimate the accuracy of Xpert Ultra assay for diagnosis of TB disease in prospectively recruited children with clinical suspicion of TB in West Africa and to retrospectively analyze the characteristics, clinical outcomes and risk factors for successful and unsuccessful treatment of MDR-TB among children diagnosed with MDR-TB in West Africa between 2014 and 2019.
