aSignificantly correlated pairs are defined as those in which the absolute Pearson correlation of the gene expression levels was empirically found to be statistically significant (FDR<0.05), following control for multiple testing. bCorrelation of genotypes at a pair of eQTLs across the RI strain panel was assessed by calculating the matching coefficient.
