XMM-Subaru:Complete High Precision Study of Galaxy Clusters for Modern Cosmology

Our XMMSubaru study of 12 clusters confirms that Mgas is a low scatter massproxy, but the slopes of the massobservable relations deviate from selfsimilarpredictions, dependent on cluster dynamics. We propose to calibrate biases inthe mass proxies based on 3 independent probes (Xray/lensing/velocitydispersion) for a volumelimited sample of 52 luminous clusters, and toinvestigate the origin of the biases by adding a sample of 15 lowerLx clusters.We will deliver definitive constraints on systematics for upcoming clustercosmology surveys. The dataset will be a major asset for programs aiming tomeasure dark energy as well as programs adding a multiwavelength focus tostudies of cluster physics.
