We analysed soil bacterial communities along geothermal gradients (spanning a range of temperature elevations from +1°C to +19°C above ambient) in two subarctic grasslands in Iceland using Illumina sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of different exposure periods to warming (>50 years and approx. 5 years) and different warming intensities on soil bacterial community composition.
