资源简介:
Aedes aegypti is the predominant vector of many arboviruses, including dengue, Zika and Chikungunya. Effective control of these mosquito is paramount for human health in endemic regions and to prevent outbreaks, however, there has been a significant increase in resistance to commonly employed insecticides which poses a considerable challenge to effective control efforts against these vectors. Genomic analysis can provide important understanding of mechanisms underlying resistance, circulating mutations of concern, and population dynamics. We generated whole genome sequence data for 33 samples from six regions of Puerto Rico, where high resistance to insecticide have been reported. We explore 33 Puerto Rican WGS alongside 215 Aedes aegypti samples from seven countries; Burkina Faso, Uganda, Kenya, Thailand, USA, Brazil and Mexico. Genome-wide population analyses were performed to identify ancestral links between populations, signals of selection and diversity, and potential insecticide resistance mutations.
