De novo transcriptome assembly and thermal stress response in black cusk-eel (Genypterus maculatus) in liver.

The black cusk-eel (Genypterus maculatus) is an abundant fish species distributed along the coasts of the Southeastern Pacific Ocean, which has been considered one of the endemic species with potencial for aquaculture diversification. The objective of the study was to generate the first de novo transcriptome assembly in this species and determine the effect of thermal stress in the liver of black cusk-eel, generating useful data for this species. For this we use RNA-seq of liver of control and thermal stress groups to sequence with Illumina Hiseq technology.
