Attitudes to political unification of Europe.

Topics: Knowledge about the member countries of the EEC; attitude to
joining by Great Britain and further development of the EEC into a
political community; attitude to the election of a European Parliament,
a European Government and an EEC president coming from another country;
attitude to European currency, a European Olympics team and a European
flag; desire for Denmark, Spain, the GDR, Poland, the USSR and
Switzerland to join the EEC; ideas about the form of a united Europe;
personal willingness to make sacrifices for the EC Union and expected
consequences on personal standard of living; satisfaction with current
living conditions and expected development of the economic situation;
national pride; judgement on selected aspects of a European
unification, such as e.g. economic development, loss of personal
traditions and development of a political power by the EEC; attitude to
guest workers; desire for strengthening of the military in one´s
country and prevention of a world war; desire for financial
independence, freedom of speech, travel freedom and a significant role
for one´s own country in world politics and science; attitude to
student demonstrations and social change; postmaterialism (scale);
trust in Americans, Russians, Italians, Germans, French, Chinese,
British and Swiss; most important political goals; political interest
and knowledge of leading politicians of the country; intensity of
absorbing political information; frequency of trips abroad; party
preference and party allegiance of respondent as well as of his
parents; the significance of the European question for the eligibility
of one´s preferred party; membership as well as sympathy and solidarity
with the trade unions; religiousness; self-classification on a poverty
