The goal of this study is to study the effects of mutations in yeast DNA repair pathways on acetaldehyde-induced mutagenesis. Strains were treated with 1% acetaldehyde and mutants were isolated via resistance to canavanine, acquired via mutations in the CAN1 gene. Isolates were subsequently processed for genomic DNA isolation, followed by whole genome paired end sequencing.
