This project contains data from a pilot study to measure nutrient removal rates, plant uptake rates, and plant growth in floating treatment wetlands, which were maintained in a greenhouse (Plattsburgh, NY). To measure nutrient removal, we collected two 50 ml water samples from each mesocosm every 24 hours for seven days. Samples were filtered, frozen at -20 C until analysis, and analyzed for dissolved ammonium, nitrate, and phosphate concentrations using a Seal automatic flow analyzer. Plant biomass was measured by harvesting each plant species in each mesocosm, drying in an oven at 60 C for 48 hours, and weighing. Aboveground biomass, belowground biomass, and new root growth were measured separately. We collected two 15 ml soil samples from each mesocosm and froze at -20 C until analysis. Soil samples were dried (60 C for 48 hours) to determine density and moisture content, and ashed (500 C for 5 hours) to determine organic content.<br> <br>20200304_2019MesocosmExperiment_PlantData.csv contains plant biomass from 3 Floating treatment wetland types. The control float contained only soil. All measurements are categorized by aboveground biomass, belowground biomass and new root growth for each species. <br>20200304_2019MesocosmExperiment_SoilData.csv contains weights of various soil samples from 4 floating treatment wetland types. All measurements are categorized by wet soil, dry soil, and ash with their respected pan number. <br>20200227_2019MesocosmExperiment_NutrientData.csv contain nutrient removal efficiencies of Nitrate, Ammonium and Phosphate from 4 mesocosms for a 7 day period. <br> 20200227_2019MesocosmExperiment_DataAnalysis.R contains R code used to analyze data and generate graphs. <br>LenbergerPoster_Spring2020.pdf <br><br>
