Sequecing and assembly of colisitin-resistant mcr-1 Enterobacterales isolates from Lower Saxony, Germany

This study investigated the prevalence of colistine-resistant and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (Col-E, CPE) on approx. 180 poultry farms in Lower Saxony (North-West Germany) as well as among directly exposed humans on these farms on a voluntary basis. Isolates from humans stool samples (farmers, relatives, workers) and farms were compared using core genome multilocus-sequence typing (cgMLST) and plasmid-typing. This study was carried out by the LAVES, NLGA and WWU in cooperation with additional partners.
