This dataset contains the source data supporting the article entitled
Empagliflozin restores cardiac function in obese-diabetic HFpEF
mice but further alters gene expression. The dataset supports key findings
on the effects of chronic in vivo empagliflozin treatment on
excitation-contraction coupling (ECC), electrophysiology, gene
transcription, and protein expression in a translational two-hit heart
failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) mouse model that combines
the obese-diabetic leptin receptor deficient db/db mice with chronic
aldosterone infusion (db/db+Aldo). Morphometry, echocardiography,
cardiomyocyte electrophysiology (action potentials and ionic currents),
fluorescent Ca imaging, whole-heart RNA sequencing, and immunoblot data
are included in separate Excel sheets with individual cell data and group
statistics. The dataset is structured to follow the sequence of data
presented in the Figures in the article and to ease the navigation between
the uploaded data files.
