We grew Arabidopsis mutant plants impaired in glucosinolate, camalexin and flavonoid synthesis and their parental background lines in natural soil and analyzed root microbial communities after 40 days of plant growth. Main goal of the study were to investigate the effects of defense metabolites mutants on soil nematode communities and to find out if root associated microbes were important in the host-nematode interaction and if they play any negative effect on plant parasitic nematodes.
