This study includes a method to sequence in parallel the exomic structuremultiple genes from multiple individuals. The genes selected for this proof of principlewere TRPV1, LTB4R, and LTB4R2, molecules involved in somatosensory signaling. Acohort of 80 subjects was scanned for polymorphisms in these genes. The studysuccessfully identified 140 loci with differences to the current build of the humangenome. These loci define regions of these molecules that may in the future be studiedfor functional differences. As a whole the methodology could be expanded to othergenes and large subject groups to uncover disease causing mutation.
