Traits of Western Cape ant species

This dataset sumarizes trait data collected for Western Cape ant species in a range of projects which Brigitte Braschler conducted or participated in during her stays as a visiting postdoc at the CIB (Oct. 2005 - Oct. 2007) and postdoc at the CIB (Oct. 2008 - Apr. 2013). This data includes information on density,distribution, habitat, thermal limits to foraging, thermal limits to coordinated movement, dry mass, water content, and day/night activity. All projects were supervised by Prof. Steven L. Chown. Other researchers participated in some of the projects and contributed to data collection. Ant identifications for all projects were led by B. Braschler.
