Railroad Yards in Kentucky

The dataset includes rail yard data identified in a data collection effort by the fifteen Kentucky Area Development Districts. Attributes were derived from their data collection and/or from review of available aerial photography. Limitations of the data: Locations and functions have not been verified with the operating railroads. Boundaries are generally digitized by review of the available aerial photography and may include more or less property than owned/managed by the railroad. Names and locations derived from the data collection effort by the fifteen Kentucky Area Development Districts. Some data was verified by review of online mapping provided by the railroad companies, including but not limited to, Canadian National, CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern, Paducah and Louisville, and RJ Corman Railroad Group. Functions of some railyards were verified from railroad company online marketing materials.
