Virome sequencing of Lettuce Big Vein Disease infected Lactuca sativae

Lettuce Big Vein Disease (LBVD) is a disease complex involving at least two RNA viruses, both transmitted by the soilborne fungus Olpidium virulentus. Soil samples originating from symptomatic plants were used to perform reinfections on Lactuca sativa cv. Iglo, and used for shotgun metagenomic sequencing using the Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform. In this study we present the virome associated Lettuce Big Vein Disease symtomology.
