PROV Records Issued & Visitor Statistics 2014 - 2015

Public Record Office Victoria operates two publicreading rooms; one at the Victorian Archives Centrein North Melbourne and the other at the BallaratArchives Centre in Ballarat. Records can also beaccessed at the Bendigo Regional Archives Centreand Geelong Heritage Centre Reading Rooms, bothof which are Places of Deposit.During 2014–2015, 15,542 visitors utilised theReading Rooms to view records. 48,949 recordswere issued to visitors and another 11,942 wereissued to Government Agencies and for internalPublic Record Office Victoria use.Our Reading Room staff delivered a number ofinformation sessions to the public on how touse the Public Record Office Victoria collectionand sessions focusing on specific areas of thecollection.In 2014–2015 our online enquiry system waslaunched to manage incoming reference queries.Over a twelve-month period, the system dealtwith on average 759 queries per month; providinga more consistent and seamless approach tocustomer service.
