Effects of alcohol on gut microbiome in adolescent and adult MMTV Wnt1-mice

This dataset includes raw sequences from a study exploring how alcohol affects microbial communities in the context of breast cancer. We used 16S rRNA gene sequencing (V3V4 region) to analyze fecal samples from both Wnt1 transgenic mice and their wild-type FVB counterparts. Mice were exposed to alcohol during either adolescence or adulthood to see how age and genetic background might influence microbiome changes. We observed that alcohol exposure led to reduced microbial diversity, especially in adults, and altered the overall microbial composition over time. These data help us understand how alcohol might promote inflammation and tumor progression through changes in the gut microbiome.
