The complete chloroplast genome of Gentiana rhodantha Franch. ex Hemsl. (Gentianaceae) and its phylogenetic analysis

Gentiana rhodantha Franch. ex Hemsl is a medicinal plant commonly used in the southwest of China. In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence of G.rhodantha to investigate its phylogenetic relationship in Gentianaceae. The cp genome of G.rhodantha is 149,036 bp in length with 37.7 % overall GC content, including a large single-copy (LSC) region of 79,947 bp and a small single-copy (SSC) region of 17,569 bp, which are separated by a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) of 25,760 bp. The cp genome contains 96 genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 25 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis indicated G. rhodantha is in a sister clade of other subtribe Gentianinae.
