Aureococcus anophagefferens Virus was first sequenced in 2013 using Illumina short reads. Due to a high density of repetitive regions on the terminal ends of the genome, the quality of the initial assembly was brought into question. Here, we resequenced the viral genome using a combination of ONT MinION long reads and Illumina short reads to generate a closed, circular genome.
