Climate change has impacted the distribution and frequency of environmental anomalies in the northeastern Pacific Ocean, creating marked heterogeneities in the time and location of heat waves and hypoxia. The pelagic copepod Calanus marshallae is an important member of the oceanic food web. This study examines the population genomics of this species along the northeastern Pacific Ocean to quantify the level of population subdivision and determine how much of this variation is due to divergent selection along environmental gradients. We generated RNA-seq data using paired-end mRNA libraries.
