We investigated the effects of polysorbate 20 and polysorbate 80 on cytotoxicity, barrier function and the transcriptome in gastrointestinal epithelial cells. RNA-seq was used for checking transcriptome. Overall design: Monolayered Caco-2 cells were treated with polysorbate 20 and polysorbate 80 at 0.05% concentration for 24 hours. Then, RNA samples were isolated, RNA-seq performed and comparative gene expression analysis done.
