Tripidium rufipilum Genome sequencing and assembly. Tripidium rufipilum

The origin and evolution of Saccharum have been largely unresolved due to the complex genetic backgrounds of the founding Saccharum species. Here, we have generated a complete gap-free genome assembly for Saccharum rufipilum, a diploid species within the same genus as modern sugarcane cultivars.Our study provides new insights into the origin and evolution of Saccharum as well as facilitating translational research in cereal genetics and genomics.
