Dataset1: Calculation of the Si-NCs bandgap as a function of NCs size by using the Brus equation. <br> Dataset2: High resolution (HR-)XRD analysis, using synchrotron radiation at SPring 8 (wavelength of 1˚A), of SiSn-NCs fabricated by fs-laser plasma as a function of the annealing temperature from 29 °C to 500 °C. <br> Dataset3: Nanocrystal geometries of the fully relaxed structures, namely Si-NCs, α-Sn-NCs, and Si0.83Sn0.17-NCs with Sn atoms on the NC surface, inside the NC core, and randomly distributed. The particle diameter is for all structures d ≈ 2.0 nm.
