Root canal samples were taken from 40 patients with endodontic infection and inoculated into 96-well plates in a system that measures biofilm growth through electrical impedance. The system was optimized to study the ex vivo effect of different antibiotics. Biofilm bacterial composition was analyzed by Illumina sequencing.
